A four-bedroom apartment of 135 square meters, in a building of the 70´s, was fully refurbished and converted into a three-bedroom apartment, adapted to the current needs of a childless couple.

The main aim was to modernize the ambience and enlarge social and working areas, but in a way that the future commercial value of the apartment wouldn’t be compromised. The elimination of a room and the overall reorganization of bathrooms and kitchen, transposed the apartment to its present days with the requirements which are today greatly appreciated, including a master bedroom with walking-closet, social bathroom and a balcony/ terrace adjoining the living room.

All carpentry built in bedrooms, office, bathroom, corridor and kitchen were designed and implemented for maximum space optimization. In the existing corridor, leading to all bedrooms, a cupboard was included with doors from floor to ceiling height, forming a grey lacquered panel, the same colour of the walls and which also concealed the bathroom door.

Some original elements were kept at client’s request, not entirely mischaracterizing this vintage-style apartment, like the existing kitchen floor in mosaic, door knobs and interior doors. Kitchen cabinets were conceived and designed to obey the same criteria.
